The Long Narrow Garden

Several years later my client still raves about her garden. Based in Bristol, this is the classic, long, narrow garden you get with 1930s terraces. The crumbling fences were replaced with good quality trellis-topped fences to afford her the feeling of privacy without losing light. The dismal, cracked, concrete path was dug up and replaced with a stone circle which has both created a focal point and split the garden into sections making it appear wider and shorter. There are small, easy to maintain beds with year-round colour. The depressing shed has been replaced with an off-the-peg summer house, made individual with a classy vintage-style coat of paint. My client now has a little seated haven at each end of the garden to catch both the morning and the evening sun.
